Wipro Names Sandeep Dhar To Lead Global GCC Strategy

Wipro Limited has appointed Sandeep Dhar as the Global Head of its GCC (Global Capability Centre) Practice, signalling a focused push toward next-gen enterprise solutions powered by artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

Dhar, a veteran in the technology and consulting landscape, brings over 30 years of experience across major global organisations and has been instrumental in establishing and scaling high-impact GCCs, including those for retail and financial services giants. His previous leadership roles at Tesco and Goldman Sachs saw him successfully pivot their India centres into innovation-led, high-performance hubs aligned with global business goals.

In this newly defined role, Dhar will drive Wipro’s advisory-led GCC offerings—working closely with enterprises aiming to build, modernise or scale their offshore operations into strategic transformation centres. He will directly report to Sanjeev Jain, Wipro’s Chief Operating Officer.

Commenting on the appointment, Sanjeev Jain said, “Wipro has played a pivotal role in helping clients set up and evolve their GCCs over the past two decades. With Sandeep on board, we are strengthening our ability to lead in a space that is rapidly transforming. His expertise and industry relationships will enable us to create deeper value for clients looking to innovate at speed.”

Dhar echoed the optimism, stating, “Today’s enterprises need partners who understand both the ambition and complexity of building future-ready GCCs. Wipro is uniquely positioned with its full-stack services, platform thinking, and AI depth to guide clients through every stage of this journey. I’m excited to join at such a pivotal time.”

This move aligns with Wipro’s broader strategic refresh under CEO Srini Pallia, with an emphasis on rejuvenating growth, strengthening global practices, and accelerating the adoption of intelligent technology frameworks.
