Global AI Leaders Converge in New Delhi for India-AI Impact Summit 2026
New Delhi today hosts the opening of
the landmark India-AI Impact Summit 2026, a five-day global gathering that
marks the first-ever international AI summit to be held in the Global South.
The event is being positioned as a defining moment in India’s growing
leadership role in shaping the global artificial intelligence agenda.
The Summit aims to reinforce India’s
emergence as a central convening platform for international AI collaboration.
It seeks to foster shared standards, cooperative frameworks, and scalable
AI-driven solutions focused on public good and sustainable development.
Invitations have been extended to over 100 countries, while more than two lakh
participants have registered online, underscoring the global interest in the
event.
Several prominent world leaders are
scheduled to attend. Among them are French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Spanish President Pedro Sánchez
Pérez-Castejón, Swiss President Guy Parmelin, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof,
and UAE Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al
Nahyan.
The Summit will also see
participation from Mauritian Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Sri Lankan

and Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.

The Summit is structured around three
foundational pillars — referred to as “Sutras” — that define its guiding
philosophy: People, Planet, and Progress. These pillars emphasise responsible
innovation, sustainability, and inclusive development through AI.

AI governance and deployment. These include:
