Capgemini And Nasscom Empower 700+ Youths With AI Skills
Capgemini,
in collaboration with the Nasscom Foundation, has successfully trained and
certified over 700 disadvantaged youths through the 'AI for Skilling' program. Implemented
in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, this initiative aims to equip marginalized communities
with in-demand AI competencies, fostering inclusive growth in India's
burgeoning tech sector.
The
comprehensive 200-hour training program encompasses over 140 hours of technical
instruction in areas such as generative AI, robotics, and fintech, complemented
by more than 60 hours dedicated to soft skills development. This holistic
approach ensures that participants are not only technically proficient but also
workplace-ready, enhancing their employability in the competitive job market.
Ashwin
Yardi, CEO – India, Capgemini, emphasized the transformative potential of AI in
shaping the future of work. He stated, "Through Capgemini’s Digital
Academy, in partnership with Nasscom Foundation, we are bridging the digital
divide—equipping the youth with industry-relevant AI and technology skills for
meaningful careers."
Jyoti
Sharma, CEO, Nasscom Foundation, highlighted the program's role in
democratizing AI access. "Our collaboration with Capgemini reflects
our shared vision of an inclusive digital economy, where marginalized youth
have the opportunity to participate and break barriers to AI access," she
noted.
Beyond
technical training, the initiative incorporated expert sessions conducted by
industry professionals, aptitude-building modules, and awareness programs. Participants
also benefited from real-world exposure through corporate volunteer engagement
and industry visits, providing insights into workplace expectations and
professional culture.
Building
on the success of its initial phase, the program's next wave will focus on
advanced and DeepTech domains, aiming to create tech-driven career pathways for
underserved youth. This forward-looking approach aligns with India's
vision of fostering a future-ready workforce, capable of thriving in an
AI-driven economy.
The 'AI
for Skilling' initiative stands as a testament to the power of collaborative
efforts in empowering communities and shaping a more inclusive digital future.
