Zoom Phone service launched in Chennai

Zoom Communications, Inc. has announced the availability of its Zoom Phone service in Chennai, within the Tamil Nadu Telecom Circle. This launch follows the service’s introduction in the Maharashtra Telecom Circle (MHTC) in October 2024 and represents a further expansion of Zoom’s telephony offerings in India.

The company aims to provide telephony solutions to both multinational corporations operating within India and domestic businesses. Zoom Phone offers inbound and outbound calling via the public switched telephone network (PSTN), allowing enterprises to potentially replace traditional PBX systems and consolidate communications onto the Zoom platform.

A key feature of Zoom Phone is its integration with Zoom AI Companion, Zoom’s generative AI assistant. Included with paid Zoom accounts, AI Companion provides features such as post-call summaries, voicemail prioritization, and voicemail task extraction. These tools are designed to enhance productivity and streamline workflows.

Zoom Phone also integrates with Zoom Workplace, other business applications, and various hardware providers. Zoom emphasizes the platform’s security, scalability, and user-friendly interface, catering to both local companies and multinational corporations.
