V brings Xbox app to select Smart TVs, enabling cloud gaming without consoles
Smart TV
platform V (formerly VIDAA) has announced the launch of the Xbox app on select
Hisense and V-powered Smart TVs, allowing users to access Xbox Cloud Gaming
directly from their television screens. The move enables cloud-based gameplay
without the need for a gaming console, downloads, or external hardware beyond a
compatible controller and internet connection.
With the Xbox
app now integrated into the Smart TV ecosystem, users in select markets will be
able to stream a growing catalogue of Xbox titles over the internet. Popular
franchises such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be available through cloud streaming, turning
compatible TVs into full-fledged gaming platforms.
Xbox Cloud
Gaming is designed to deliver console-level performance optimized for large
screens, offering responsive gameplay directly within the Smart TV interface.
The integration positions the television as a central gaming device, reducing
reliance on dedicated consoles and lowering entry barriers for users interested
in premium gaming experiences.
The rollout
aligns with V’s broader strategy of expanding its Smart TV platform beyond
traditional streaming by incorporating interactive and cloud-based services. By
embedding gaming directly into the operating system, V aims to simplify access
to high-end entertainment while broadening its content ecosystem.
The Xbox app
is expected to roll out across supported V markets in 2026. Availability,
supported titles, and language options will vary by region. On compatible TVs,
the app will be accessible directly from the home screen, allowing users to
pair a controller and begin playing without additional setup.
With this
launch, V strengthens its position in the global Smart TV market by combining
streaming, live TV, apps, and now cloud gaming into a unified entertainment
experience.
