MSI Commences Manufacturing Laptops In Chennai
Taiwanese
laptop maker MSI has officially commenced its manufacturing operations in India
with the opening of its first facility in Chennai. This is a significant step
in the company's efforts to align with the "Make in India"
initiative, as it begins producing locally-made versions of its popular laptop
models, the MSI Modern 14 and MSI Thin 15.
MSI has
been rapidly expanding its presence in India, one of its fastest-growing
markets. The company is capitalising on the increasing demand for
high-performance laptops, which has led to the decision to introduce locally
manufactured devices that meet global standards. MSI plans to make its products
more accessible across the country, enhancing its retail reach by increasing
the number of brand stores and collaborating with major retail chains such as
Croma and Reliance Retail.
The
locally manufactured MSI Thin 15 will be available at a retail price starting
at Rs 73,990, while the MSI Modern 14 will be priced from Rs 52,990. The
company also revealed plans to introduce more powerful configurations of the
Thin series in the future, tailored to meet the diverse needs of Indian
consumers.
"We
are confident that this will mark the beginning of a new era in MSI's journey
and help penetrate the Indian market further while enhancing operational
efficiencies and contribute to India's journey as a global leader in
technology," said John Hung, NB General Manager, MSI India.
