Microsoft rebrands another ‘iconic’ product on Windows 11 as it pushes for AI
Microsoft has reportedly
retired the iconic “Office” brand, rebranding its productivity suite – known as
Microsoft 365 Office – to “Microsoft 365 Copilot.” This move may imply a shift
in the company’s strategy that emphasises the growing importance of AI within
its product ecosystem.
The new branding, spotted by Windows Latest, will reportedly be reflected
in a redesigned logo and user interface, with a prominent focus on Copilot
features and a streamlined user experience. The new logo has "M365"
badge atop the Copilot logo.
The Copilot branding has been gradually introduced by Microsoft,
suggesting the company’s commitment to AI-powered tools and services. This
rebranding follows Microsoft's recent price increase for Microsoft 365
subscriptions, which the company justified by integrating Copilot into the base
plan.
Microsoft has previously hinted its aim to align the company’s branding
with its focus on AI. The company has previously changed “MS Office” branding
to Microsoft 365 Office.
