Matrix Geo Wins MP Govt Contract for Narmada Parikrama Survey, to Deploy Drone Mapping and Digital Twin Technologies
Matrix Geo Solutions
Limited, a geospatial technology and engineering consultancy, has received a
Letter of Acceptance from the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development
Corporation Limited (MPSEDC), the nodal technology agency of the Government of
Madhya Pradesh.
The mandate is for
conducting the Narmada Parikrama Survey using drones, aircraft and helicopters
for state government projects. The order is valued at INR 5,14,16,000 and is to
be executed over a period of 6 months.
The Narmada is one of
India’s major river systems, originating at Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh and
flowing approximately 1,312 kilometres through Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and
Gujarat before meeting the Arabian Sea. The river corridor includes steep
gorges, dense forest cover and expansive alluvial plains, making large scale
data acquisition complex.
Under this mandate,
Matrix Geo will deploy drones, aircraft, helicopters and advanced LiDAR systems
to conduct aerial data acquisition across approximately 2,400 sq. km. of the
Narmada river corridor. These technologies will support high resolution
mapping, terrain modelling and hydrological analysis, forming the base for
Detailed Project Report preparation and long term infrastructure planning.
The project will also
support the creation of a comprehensive Digital Twin of the Narmada corridor.
This digital layer will enable monitoring, planning and data based decision
making. It will also support identification of encroachments, ecological
sensitivities and infrastructure gaps, while enabling planning of Parikrama
routes and related facilities.
The Narmada Parikrama
holds cultural and spiritual importance and attracts thousands of devotees
annually. Through this initiative, the Government of Madhya Pradesh aims to
improve pilgrimage infrastructure, support tourism and maintain the ecological
and cultural balance of the river corridor.
Speaking on the
project win, Amit Sharma, Whole Time Director, Matrix Geo Solutions
Limited, said, “This project is a unique convergence of
spirituality, sustainability, and technology. We are honored to partner with
MPSEDC in creating a future-ready digital ecosystem for the Narmada Parikrama.
Our goal is to build a highly accurate, scalable, and intelligent geospatial
foundation that supports both pilgrimage and policy.”
The project uses
drone led geospatial technologies along with GIS, remote sensing and data
analytics to create a unified data layer for departments including forest and
environment, water resources, tourism, urban and rural development and disaster
management.
The initiative is
expected to support improved route planning, better accessibility for pilgrims,
promotion of eco-tourism and generation of local employment. It also adds to
Matrix Geo’s experience in executing large scale geospatial projects across
infrastructure, environmental and cultural landscapes.
