Dell Technologies & Nutanix unveil new cloud solutions
Dell
Technologies and Nutanix, building on their longstanding relationship, have
announced two new solutions designed to enhance flexibility and control within
Nutanix environments. These offerings aim to address key IT challenges and
support enterprises in managing their applications and workloads more
efficiently.
The first solution, Dell XC Plus, is a turnkey
hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) appliance that integrates the Nutanix
Cloud Platform software stack with Dell PowerEdge servers. According to the
companies, Dell XC Plus is engineered to streamline the complexities associated
with on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. Key features include a
centralised control plane, robust automation capabilities, the integrated
Nutanix AHV hypervisor, and a distributed cloud architecture designed for
resiliency.
The appliance aims to simplify hybrid cloud environments
by combining Nutanix’s user-friendly software with Dell’s robust PowerEdge
servers, facilitating seamless management within a unified framework. Dell
Technologies and Nutanix highlighted the automation capabilities of the Dell XC
Plus as a way to create a more secure, resilient, and agile IT environment that
allows teams to focus on strategic business outcomes rather than routine
maintenance tasks. Leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning, the
solution continuously refines its performance, enhancing resource planning for
both traditional and modern workloads.
The second solution to be introduced is Dell PowerFlex
with Nutanix Cloud Platform. This marks the first-time external storage has been
supported and integrated with the Nutanix Cloud Platform. The integration
combines Dell’s software-defined infrastructure with the Nutanix AHV hypervisor
and Cloud Platform, aiming to provide an enhanced hybrid cloud experience. With
this development, customers will benefit from greater storage flexibility,
enabling them to manage compute and storage resources independently, and
operate their preferred hypervisor while maintaining the Nutanix software
suite’s full features.
Key attributes of this new integration include enterprise
data protection and disaster recovery, networking and security features, all of
which are designed to address complex infrastructure challenges efficiently.
Dell and Nutanix have indicated that this solution is currently in development
and will be available for early access to customers later this year.
Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies,
stated, "Our continued collaboration with Nutanix reflects our commitment
to innovation and helping enterprises navigate the complexities of the hybrid
cloud landscape. Dell XC Plus and Dell PowerFlex with Nutanix Cloud Platform
are prime examples of how we are pushing technological boundaries to offer more
flexibility and control to our customers."
Rajiv Ramaswami, President and CEO of Nutanix, echoed
Dell's sentiments, saying, "By deepening our partnership with Dell
Technologies, we are providing customers with solutions that not only tackle
today's IT challenges but are also built to support future expansions and
innovations."
